Non-profit Connections
Volunteer opportunities and community service tie into the spirit of
sustainability. There are several non-profit organizations with which Harris
Management Services is connected. They include:
Earth Charter - The
Earth Charter, a worldwide effort focusing on respect and care for the
community of life, is a declaration of fundamental principles for building a
just, sustainable, and peaceful global society for the 21st century. The
local chapter, Earth Charter Community of the Lower Valley (ECCoLoV), meets
the second Sunday of every month at 2pm at The Sanctuary, 59 Bogel Road,
East Haddam.
SILII Productions –
SILII is an acronym stating for Say It Like It Is and is a non-profit
organization created by HMS founder, Michael G. Harris, to underwrite events
designed to foster community. Examples of local events include concerts and
photography exhibits. Events take place within the context of larger
community events to deepen community connections or are sponsored as the
sole entertainment venue to showcase local talent.
Solar Clarity
– Solar Clarity is the brain child of Justin Good, PhD, and is the nucleus
for the sustainability and relocalization network that exists in Chester,
CT.
